3. METER DEPOSITS
A. Residential - $47.00
B. Commercial - $126.00
C. Meter deposits are returned twelve months from the establishment of service if there has been twelve consecutive months of non-delinquent payments. Interest is paid on the deposit according to the rate posted by the Public Service Commission.

4. SERVICE LINES
Unless you are moving into a house which previously had gas service, you will need a service line.  Union does not provide any services inside the home. Although Union will periodically check your service line, the maintenance of the service line is the responsibility of the customer. The meter location is at Union's discretion. The customer is responsible for any damage to the service line resulting from the customer's negligence.

5. LEAK ADJUSTMENT POLICY
If a leak is suspected or discovered, the customer should contact our office immediately. If a leak has occurred, the utility will review the circumstances surrounding the leak to assess responsibility. If there is a determination that all or part of the leak's gas loss is not the responsibility of the customer, the utility shall make adjustments to their next billing statement.

6. METER READING
If a customer has a question about their meter reading, please contact our offices. With each meter, the numerical difference between the previous month and the present month equals the amount of mcfs used. If Union discovers that its reading was in error, the customer's next bill will be corrected accordingly.

7. BILLS
Bills are sent out on the last day of the month. Any bills that are not paid within thirty (30) days are considered delinquent. If the customer cannot pay his or her bill in full, they should contact our offices to discuss setting up a deferred payment plan to settle their account.

8. NEW TAP REQUIREMENTS
1. Interior plumbing must extend to the outside of the house and hooked to one appliance before installation of a meter.
2. All mobile homes must have a flexible mobile home connector (3/4 inch fitting)
3. Each appliance must have a shut off valve.
4. Copper lines are not permitted.
5. If the plumbing extends through masonry, it must be encased in a sealed (metal or plastic) wall sleeve. The sealed wall sleeve should stick out six inches from the wall and no more than 24 inches above ground.
6. Union may install the first one hundred feet of service line from the distribution line. The customer is responsible for the remaining footage to their structure.
